The effect of furniture in the public domain is frequently underestimated. Good furniture is crucial to an optimal use of public spaces. In turn, properly used public spaces are a prerequisite for busy cities, participation and social integration. Such spaces create genuine encounters and interexchange between people of all ages and thereby increase psychological and physical well-being. Studies show that health can be improved and medical costs reduced if the amount of time that older people spend in the public domain is increased. The popular garden chair from the sixties is in service in many parks, green spaces and cemeteries in public space and literally experienced a renaissance over the past years. Weatherproof, comfortable, stackable with or without skids, it is ideally suited for grass or gravel areas. State-of-the-art, with stainless steel frame, the Stella chair meets all requirements of a sturdy and durable furniture for the public domain. The Stella family has been extended with a stool, easy chair and table.
A special ZHdK-edition of the Stella chair will be shown at the exhibition of the Designmuseum Danmark.
