REFRESH X Fantoche #3
The interdisciplinary exhibition «REFRESH X Fantoche» is situated at the interface of the Arts, Design and Technology. By means of games, video works and immersive installations, the exhibition explores notions of «care», community, the ecological crisis and the complex relationship between humans and nature. It presents visions of possible futures in Design and the Arts through selected projects and reflects the role of designers and artists in an increasingly digitalized world. The designers adeptly combine a highly diverse range of technologies to convey the urgency of their narratives in a contemporary and immersive format. It comes as no surprise that they frequently push the boundaries of their disciplines with their artistic practice. At times poignant, at other times hilarious, sometimes critical and always profoundly personal – the international group exhibition, comprised of 16 works, is a plea for a new «we» that inevitably includes non-human life («more than human»).
REFRESH X Fantoche is a collaboration between the Department of Design and the Immersive Arts Space of the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) with the Fantoche International Animation Film Festival.
