Kinetic Architecture
This workshop provides hands-on insight into the fields of Physical Computing and Responsive Environments. A brief kick-off lecture is followed by an extensive experiment, in which the participants are tasked with building an interactive responsive architecture at a 1 to 1 scale using our mechatronic tool-kit and lightweight materials. The inspiration for this experiment is loosely based on Cedric Price's Fun Palace. Price believed that through technology, architecture could respond to its occupant's wishes and needs. Our aim is to build working prototypes for such spaces using wirelessly networked machines and sensors.
