SEVEN GRAMS
A global journalistic project in VR
The augmented reality app «SEVEN GRAMS» by Karim Ben Khelifa brings the global exploitation supply chains of rare minerals and especially the tragedy of artisanal miners in the Democratic Republic of the Congo straight to your smartphone. By visualizing all these complex political and electronic processes «SEVEN GRAMS» offers new ways to understand the human cost that went into producing the indispensable gadget that we use daily.
For the first time in Zurich, the AR app can be experienced in the REFRESH #4 exhibition. In addition, a collection of impressive and touching b/w photographs by Karim Ben Khelifa will be on display to surround the visitors while they immerse themselves in «SEVEN GRAMS» on the smartphones.
